I will only be evaluating one minute as my teaser trailer will only
be one minute.
The longest ride is author by Nicholas Sparks the Country

17, 2013. Directed by George Tillman Jr. And the writing credits by Craig
Bolotin. Screenplay- Cast, Britt Robertson as Sophia Danko, Scott Eastwood as Luke
Collins, Alan Alda as Ira Levinson.
The inspiration for the book was Black Mountain College, a
liberal arts school whose faculty included some of the most prominent names in
the modern art movement. Styles mentioned in the book include Abstract Expressionism,
Futurism, Bauhaus, Cubism, and Lyrical Abstractionism.
Lasting 2 minutes 28 seconds, the trailer begins with a
green screen with the classic age certification appropriate audience title,
this is important for this particular film as it begins the teaser trailer with
warning the audience of what the age content will be. This title also gives the
audience the company who provides this which is the “Motion Picture Association
Of America.INC” this also gives us a fair idea straight away that this is an American
Film. This was shown for approximately
0.05 seconds.
The establishing shot that we see is of the main character
(or what we can guess) to be the main character, this is a mid shot, this gives
us a fair idea of the character and her looks, as well as where the scene is
actually taking place, from this establishing shot I can assume that the two
women are at some kind of show watching at the seats, it also is bright
therefore it looks to be outside, the atmosphere seems to be light hearted and
the people around the girls look to be smiling and laughing, giving off a first
impression that this will most likely be a light hearted drama movie.Sound and dialogue, The girl (main character) says “what are we
in for here” in a happy tone, while non diagetic sound comes in, this seems to
be a song.
In this next clip we can see the
next lead character, in teaser trailers in the first few shots they tend to
show the leading characters one by one as this gives the audience an immediate
knowledge of who we will be seeing throughout the film as well as who’s story we will be following and connecting to, in this teaser trailer they have done
just that as we can see from this clip, this is literally only 0.07 seconds
into the trailer and we can already identify our main characters.
As we can guess this must be the
love interest of the film, again as the first shot this is a mid shot showing
us from above the waist, we can see that this man must be taking part in the
show whereby the women are watching guessing immediately by his costume it
appears that it is a rodeo show. From this clip we see the man
winking up to the girl and a shot of her and then back at him, showing us that
there is indeed a love interest going on between the two characters.
This next shot is a long shot, it
is also a wide angle shot that shows the audience everything that will give us
a further idea of where it is as well as who is there in the scene, we can
further identify that it is at a rodeo show and it is outside, there main
costume that is shown in this clip is rodeo esq with the men all wearing cowboy
hats as well as Texas style jackets. There is also a bull in the scene which further emphasises that the main male character has hobbies and is interested
also that he is a male macho figure who will most likely be the “hero” in this
film.
In the next shot we can see an establishing shot whereby the creators wanted the audience to see where one of the main characters live, this shot is a birds eye view whereby we can see a wide angle of the land. The creators have set the lighting to be dark and gloomy almost to show the atmosphere to be of somewhat a dark side to this particular main character.
In this next shot it is clear that the two main characters are showing a connection in the movie, the lighting is bright and they are situated outside in an open area, possibly the male characters home land where the main leading female character is showing an interest, this is a mid shot and has been carefully selected to show their facial emotions.
In this last shot we can see that the creators have carefully placed the release date on a slide by its self so that the audience can only see the main aspect of what the production company want them to find out.
